February 21, 2014 : The Chief Minister of Assam Shri Tarun Gogoi formally inaugurated the 3 days Integration Mela or Samannay Mela at N.L.Daulagupu Sports Complex, Haflong on 21st February 2014 in the presence of Minister Shri.Ajit Singh, Chief Executive Member of N.C.Hills Autonomous Council Shri Debojeet Thaosen and His colleagues Ems and MACs with huge gathering.
The Chief Guest CM Gogoi, in his address of the gathering, appreciated the NCHAC and Directorate of Information and Public Relation for organizing such grand Mela with exhibition by almost all the Departments under the administrative control of the council, NGOs and others. He also praised the District Admnistration, Law & order and Security administration, the Council, all organizations as well as the general public for extending help in the restoration of peace in the district.
The Chief Minister extended his thanks to the Chief Executive Member of N.C.Hills Autonomous Council Shri Debojeet Thaosen and His colleagues Ems and MACs for working for the development of the district. He also encourage them and all responsible Heads of Department and others to work for the development of the district and progress of the society.
In response to the demand of the CEM Debojeet Thaosen for helping to clear the pending salaries of the normal employees and also for permanent solution of this problem, Gogoi announced that he would sanction fund for help. For which, he directed the CEM and all concern to make package with an aim to generate income in some department, etc. so that he may sanction the fund.
Earlier, the Chief Executive Member of N.C.Hills Autonomous Council Shri Debojeet Thaosen delivered a welcome speech and made a request for solving salary problem, etc That was followed by report of achievement made by every department by EM Kulendra Daulagupu.
The students of St. Agnes Convent, Donbosco and other schools entertained the gathering with different colourful show and traditional dances by Dimasa, Jeme,Hmar, Kuki, etc. and other entertainment. ( see ‘conclusion report’ )
