Songpijang,Haflong, December 29 : Songpijang Platinum Jubilee Memorial
Stone was unveiled by the Executive member of N.C.Hills Autonomous
Council,Haflong Shri. Samuel Changsan in the presence of L.Guite GB,
L.M.Chongloi AGB, H.Haolai Village Secretary, village elders, Church elders, other
dignitaries and huge gathering at Old Colony of Songpijang, Haflong on 29th
December,2014 at 11:30 AM.
Just before unveiling of the Jubilee Stone, the women’s Choir presented a
heart-breaking song of praising Almighty God and the Youth, Choir of Songpijang
Churches Fellowship Choir also presented a Song for Paising Almighty God who
have been helping the villagers through the ages and is and will be their only
God for eternity.
Then, a Village Gong was rang by the GB, AGB,Secretary and other leaders
to mark the event. That was followed by blessing prayer by the senior most
Pastor (Retd.) Rev.T.S.Changsan.
It is note-worthy that the Chief Guest EM Samuel Changsan happens to be the
second son of Retired IAS Officer Lt.V.Changsan IAS (the first IAS among the
Kuki of Assam hailing from Songpijang).
In this connection, a public meeting was held at Songpijang Playgroud and
cultural function will also be held in the evening.
