Haflong, February 5: A two day programme training – cum- Demonstration of Indoor Residual Spray of DDT was organised by Joint Director, Health Services, Dima Hasao, Haflong among the staffs of Vector borne diseases department from different Health Centres of Dima Hasao at Cultural Institute Hall, Haflong since yesterday.
As a part of the programme, demonstration was done at Tularam Razi (Village) 2 KM away from Haflong town.
The programme was conducted by Dr. Tirthankar Basu, Production Manager, Hindustan Insecticides Ltd. Govt. of India Enterprise, New Delhi, accompanied by Nandita Gorlosa, District Vector borne Diseases Consultant as per guidelines laid by World Health Organisation to eradicate malaria diseases totally. T. Basu explained the DDT spray staffs about the cautions to be taken while using the spray in the house, methods of preparing the DDT solution before spray, limits of DDT dosses as per the sizes of the area to be sprayed and how to refill the DDT solution as and when required.
The two days programme was attended by a large number of villagers and medical staffs and ended with thanks for the fruitful programme by T. Basu and Nandita Gorlosa.
