HAFLONG, February 11,
2019 : As per media report, the Assam
government is proposing to create new district from the exiting Dima Hasao
district, which is widely circulated in social media since February 6.
When checked, the
Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is posting in hs facebook, saying,
“We have decided to create a separate new district from existing Dima Hasao
district considering its large geography and hilly terrain which makes the
access of government services difficult for the citizens.”
In other media
reports, minister Sarma is also said to have announced this proposal during his
speech while presenting the Assam Budget 2019-20 today.
