Haflong, January 24, 2021: The 124th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose was observed today, January 23 at Haflong in Dima Hasao, organized by 124th Birth Anniversary Celebration Committee of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose .
The programme started at 10:00 AM with a colourful procession through the main streets of Haflong town.
Public meeting was held at District Library Auditorium, which was also attended by Chief Executive Member of NCHills Autonomous Council Debolal Gorlosa, Executive Member Smti. Nandita Gorlosa, MACs like Daniel Langthasa, Iswar Joishi, Liton Chakraborty, Deputy Commissioner Paul Barua, Principal Secretary (N) of NCHAC Mukud Kemprai and others.
On the occasion, short speech were delivered on the life and contribution of the Netaji by distinguish guests. Cultural programme was held at night in the same place.
The Anniversary was observed at Old Jatinga railway station in Jatinga by Haflong Welfare Association. The HWA members garlanded the Netajis’ statue and delivered speeches on the life and contribution of Netaji. They also felicitated Raju Acharjee, who erected Netaji’s statue there, which is the only statue in Dima Hasao.
The report of the celebration have also been received from different places of the district like Maibang, Mahur, Harangajao, Umrongso. etc..
