Dist Election Officer meets the Press regarding Assembly election

 

Haflong, February 27, 2021: With the declaration of
Assam Assembly Election 2021, by the Election Commission of India, the Model
Code of Conduct comes into force in the entire state of Assam from evening of
26^th February last.  

Dima
Hasao district which falls under the 16-Haflong (ST)LAC will vote in the second
phase on 1st April, 2021 as communicated by the DEO cum Deputy Commissioner
Paul Barua, ACS while addressing the press today at the DC conference hall,
Haflong.

According to the
statement, the date of issue of notification is on 5th March, last date of
making nomination on 12^th March, date for scrutiny of the
nominations on 15^th march and candidates may withdraw from
nomination by 17^th March. The counting of votes will be on 2^nd
May while ECI has notified that the entire process of the election will be completed
by 4^th May, 2021.

DC cum DEO Paul Barua,
requesting all sections of people to maintain peace and harmony he also
requested all the concerned political parties not to violate the model code of
conduct of the Election Commission of India, New Delhi.

Further he requested in
general to all people to render all possible help to the district
Administration in all aspects for successful conduct of the election as per
schedule prescribed by the ECI.
