28 April,2012 - A medical camp was conducted by 25 Assam Rifles at Gunjong on 23 Apr 2012, in which locals from
the remote villages in and around Gunjong area of Dima Hasao District availed
the facility of free medical treatment.
The medical camp was organized in conjunction with the District Medical Authorities, Haflong.
One Assam Rifles doctor along with nursing assistants from civil hospital, Haflong attended to the patients. The medical officer of 25 Assam Rifles also gave instructions on health and hygiene to the local people and gave medical advices and precautions against skin diseases. He also educated the villagers regarding importance of a balanced diet, vitamin deficiency and methods for their prevention.The occasion witnessed unprecedented synergy between the security forces, civilians and civil administration. The villagers also extended necessary assistance for the conduct of the event and expressed their gratitude towards the Assam Rifles for their sincere and unassuming dedication towards addressing the problems of the hill people in remote areas.
