Haflong September 7: The Chief Executive Member, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council Debojit Thaosen flag off the Golden Jubilee procession in the morning of September 3,2011 from the College Campus to begin the Golden Jubilee Celebration of Haflong Govt. College, many dignitaries including Teachers, Students, non-teaching staffs, ex-students and well wishers of Haflong Govt. College took part in the Golden Jubilee procession, stated the official press release of the District Information and Public Relation Officer, Haflong Lalhmachhuana Joute today.
The Official release said that the Chief Executive Member opines that he was happy to be apart of the grand celebration and also impressed with many of the voluntary organizations that distributed sweets, juices, etc. to the people who took part in the procession. The Executive Members of Dima Hasao Autonompous Council Prakanta Warisa, Moril Masa, Kalijoy Sengyung, Deputy Chairman Modhu Joishi and others also took part. The Principal of the Haflong Govt. College says that he is overwhelmed by the response they are receiving in connection to the Golden Jubilee celebration and said that this was the first time tableaus has been displayed by the students depicting the different cultures and tribes of Dima Hasao District during the procession. In the meantime, the Chief Secretary to the Govt. of Assam N.K.Das IAS arrived in the afternoon by Hill Queen to grace the celebration. He was received by the Deputy Commissioner D.Borthakur IAS, Principal Secretary (T) Dima Hasao Autonomous Council L.Khawbung ACS, Principal Secretary (N) Dima Hasao Autonomous Council Sunil Nunisa, Deputy Secretary (T) Dima Hasao Autonomous Council Smti.
