Executive Member Sri Kulendra Daulagupu, Executive Member Shri. Hailangkambe
Pame and Sri. Iheubuing Jeme, MAC along
with Officials visited the road affected area of Haflong – Harangajao on NH.54(
Haflong to Silchar road).
Due to incessant rainfall in the past few days, the
condition of the road is in a dilapidated condition caused by landslide and
landslip. But the worst affected area is in Boro Muolkoi 38 Kms away from
Haflong town, where in addition to landslide and landslip, around 500 meters of
the area falls under vertical land sinking phenomenon. So, the area is still
unable to restore road services and as a result, hundreds of vehicles have been
stranded in both sides of the affected area. The affected area is under the
control Jay Kalika Maa (JKM) road Construction Company. The construction
company has been blamed for not taking appropriate steps immediately to restore
the road connectivity work.

S.B. Roy, Project Manager, JKM Construction Company while talking to the
Council Authorities said that his company has been trying to restore the road
service as early as possible by constructing a bye- pass road towards the
on-going B.G Line railway track on temporary basis.
