Haflong,
September 26: - The Swaach Bharat Mission
(Gramin), a national sanitation campaign was launched at Dima Hasao by H. K.
Bora, Principal Secretary of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council at Haflong
today.
Under
this mission by the Ministry of Sanitation and Drinking Water, Govt. of India
is to provide all household in India with sanitary toilets and huge awareness
programme is planned with a vision for clean India by October 2, 2019 the birth
anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. In Dima Hasao the programme was simultaneously
launched in three places at Haflong, Maibang and Umrangso.
On
the occasion an oath was also administered by M. Pangcho, district nodal
officer of the mission. The programme ended with a rally participated by
officers and staff of various other departments and local people displaying
placards on sanitation.
The
programme was also attended by NCHAC Dy. Secretary H Haolai, Vice Chairman of
Town Committee J Poithong, Executive Engineeer PHE of Haflong division,
District Programme Manager of National Health Mission and other officers and
staff .
