Haflong, April’1: The Dima Hasao Congress Committee, Haflong today submitted a memorandum to Nitin Jairam Gakari ,Minister for Road Transport and Highway,New Delhi urging to cancel the contractual work of Simplex Infras Ltd engaged in Haflong-Jatinga road under NHAI, as per agreement with Rajiv Ghosh on behalf of Simple Infras Ltd and failure to complete the said work by 31stMarch’2015 from Haflong post office to Mahadev Tilla as agreed with DCC, Haflong.The Memorandum was submitted today by the President of DCC, Mahendra Kemprai , General secretary, DCC,Tulsi Upadhaya, accompanied by Sr Party leaders through the Deputy Commissioner, Dima Hasao, Haflong.
Earlier, on 13th March’2015 the Dima Hasao Congress Committee held a protest and road blockade program in Mahadev Tilla, Haflong with hundreds of party workers and general public in demand of early completion of Jatinga -Haflong Road under NHAI. Flowing which a agreement was signed between Mahendra Kemprai, President of DCC and of Rajiv Ghosh on behalf of the Simplex Ltd in presence of Rajiv Das, Magistrate, Dima Hasao district to complete the said works within 31st March.To reveal that many time different organizations has raised protest for early completion of the said road since long. The road between the Jatinga-Haflong is the only lifeline connecting Haflong to Silchar and Lumding is now in deplorable condition creating serious hazard and communication problem to commuters; further this might get worsened in coming days due to rain. It is high time that the authority and construction company engaged in the said work to look in to the matter firmly for early completion.
