Haflong, April 9, 2019: With just few days to go for poll at the 3 Autonomous Districts (ST), pertaining to 16- Haflong (ST) LA constituency of Dima Hasao, the district election office of Dima Hasao is all prepared for its final day.
A total of 1,37,317 persons out of which 69,342 male voters and 67,975 female will exercise their voting rights in 242 different polling stations in the district.
As a part of the poll preparedness, training of all officials entrusted with various duties of different capacities such as micro observer, zonal and sector officers, presiding and polling officials including security are completed and some to complete as scheduled by 11th next.
Commissioning of all EVM and VVPAT machines that are to be sent to the 242 polling stations have been completed and sealed to be placed at the strong room by the officials in presence of the General Observer, DEO and representatives of all political parties.
Meanwhile the Election Commission of India has made it mandatory for all political parties or candidates or any organization or person shall not publish any advertisement in print media on poll day and one day prior to poll day in all the phases unless the content of the advertisement are pre certified by the Media certification and monitoring committee (MCMC) at the state or the district as the case may be. This is in order to ensure free, fair and peaceful poll.
