Haflong, August 17, 2019: To generate awareness among the people about preparedness and measures needed to be adopted to minimize the losses during calamities such as earthquake or fire and emergency, the 'Great Assam School Shake-Out programme' was conducted today in various School of Dima Hasao by District Disaster Management Authority.
The programme is taken out with the initiatives taken by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA).
As directed by the government the District Disaster management Autority of Dima Hasao conducted a mock drill in schools at 11:00 A.M. today with an overwhelming participation from school students and teachers. More than 100 numbers of schools throughout Dima Hasao took part in this awareness cum mock drill programme.
Five schools from five educational blocks were covered by the media persons of which in three schools display of fire and emergency service equipments were shown in the exhibition arranged by the Fire & Emergency Services Dept.
Through this mock drill exercise students as well as teachers were sensitized on safety measure during fire alert, earthquake during school. They also learnt marking of Evacuation Route in the Schools though this drill.
