Meeting of District level Press recognition
committee at Haflong

Haflong, December 30, 2020:  The newly reconstituted District Level
Recognition Committee held meeting today  the in the office chamber of Deputy
Commissioner, Dima Hasao district, Haflong to discuss about the new
applications from working journalists of the district.

 

The Deputy
Commissioner Paul Barua, who is also the Chairman of the committee welcomed the
members including the newly appointed members from the media fraternity, Lalkam
Hengna and Biplop Deb to the committee and spoke about the process of recognizing
genuine reporters that will benefit media persons in the district as well as
the district administration.

 

It is
to be noted that the District Level Committee for government recognition is constituted
at the district level as per the Assam Press Accreditation Rules 1989. The
committee will be in force for next two years as per the rule.

 

During
the meeting, District Information and Public Relation Officer Smti. Purabi
Phonglo put up the new applications received from three working Journalists of the
district. The Committee minutely scrutinized the applications  and two were finalized, while one of the
three still required some data. After the requisite police verification, the committee
will forward to the Directorate of Information & Public Relations Office,
Dispur for approval after.
