Haflong, January 21, 2021 : The villagers of Daodungkhor under Hamri constituency in Dima Hasao district celebrated the centenary year of the village on January 20 last.
According to the villagers, Daodungkhor was established in 20th January 1921, which completed its 100 years on 20th January 2021. The village is around 80 km away from Haflong, the headquarter of Dima Hasao district.
The programme was attended by Chief Executive member of N.C.Hills Autonomous Council Debolal Gorlosa as chief guest.
The programme was also attended by EM Smti. Nandita Garlosa and Chairman of Haflong Municipal Board and the MAC of Hamri constituency Monjit Naiding.
On the occasion, CEM Gorlosa inaugurated a seven km village approach road to Daodungkhor village, which he said is a gift for villagers.
Speaking on the occasion, Gorlosa said that he had already visited the village about 4 to 5 times earlier but there was no road at that time. This is the first time he visits the village as CEM. He is glad that he can visit the village by vehicle now. So, he promised to sanction an amount of Rs.2 crore from special package for the village road. He also said that rest of work of the road and other village development work like teacher’s quarter etc will be completed very soon.
Local MAC Monjit Naiding, in his speech, said that Daodungkhor, one of the oldest village of Dima Hasao, had no road earlier. As such, the villagers had suffered many problems due to unavailability of road communications. So, after he was elected as the MAC of Hamri constituency, he decided to construct road and is very glad that the road has been constructed.
