Ceremonial Distribution of NCHAC Members’ Pension at Haflong

 .


Haflong,
January 26, 2021: Ceremonial Distribution of Pension among the  former N.C. Hills Autonomous council  members was held at District Library
Auditorium, Haflong today.



 



This
is the first time in the history of NCHills Autonomous Council of Dima Hasao
(earlier NC Hills) district of Assam, all the former members of the council
will get their pensions starting from April, 2020.



 



On
the occasion, dumy check was distributed to few former MACs  by  CEM
Debolal Gorlosa,  Chairperson Smti. Ranu
Langthasa, MLA  BB Hagjer, present
Executive Members and Members of Autonomous council.



Names
of all other former CEMs, Chairman, EMs and MACs were announced that the first
six months  pensions will be deposited in
their bank accounts within two to three days.



 



It
may be noted that the resolution was adopted during the executive committee
meeting of NCHAC on 10th November, 2020 after which the bill was passed in the
last council Assembly.



 



The
bill was adopted for providing a monthly pension to Ex-Chairman, Ex-CEM and
Ex-MACs, if the person has not been receiving pension other than old age
pension schemes of the government or salary from any public sector offices
across India. According to the notification one official car with driver will
also be given to a full termed Ex-CEM of the council.



 



According
to the bill, the monthly pension at the rate of fifty percent of the existing
per month gross salary or shall be according to changes in gross salary of the
chairman, CEM and MACs of NCHAC that will be paid to ex-Chairman, Ex- CEMs and
others Ex-MACs of the council respectively in retrospective effect from 1st of
April, 2020 with an additional amount of Rs. 1000 for every additional term
they served in council.



 



In
case if the pensioner is dead, the widow or the widower of the same will be paid
monthly pension for life which will be half of the admissible pension amount of
the pensioner provided they are not salaried or pensioner of any public sector
offices.



 



Total
103 former members since 1952 are found eligible for this pension who will receive
their admissible amount to their respective accounts as provided to the Council
Legislative Department.



 



The
programme was responded with a good attendance by the former members such as
Tianga Nampui, Obadsting Pacchao, Depolal Hojai, Pramila Hojai, Lodigumbe Jeme,
wife of Lt. D Hojai, Niranjan Hojai, Mohit Hojai and many others.
