Re-SVAYEM Scheme launch by CEM Debolal Gorlosa at Haflong

 


Haflong, January 24, 2021: Chief Executive Member of N.C.Hills Autonomous Council Debolal Gorlosa and Chairperson Smti. Ranu Langthasa launched Re- SVAYEM scheme today, 24th Januray, 2021 at District Library Auditorium, Haflong in Dima Hasao.

 

Deputy Commissioner Paul Baruah, in his welcome address, explained about the scheme and urged the beneficiaries to utilize the amount provided to them properly for their own benefit.

 

Speaking on the occasion, the CEM said that the state government’s flagship scheme Redesigned Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment (Re- SVAYEM) would benefit around 1000 youth in the first phase, while around 643 will get in the second phase from the district.

 

The amount, Rs. 50,000 each will be given in two instalments, of which the first instalment of Rs. 30,000 was given ceremoniously to 5 beneficiaries on the occasion. The total sanctioned amount for Dima Hasao district is Rs. 5 crore.

 

Gorlosa asserted, “This scheme is being provided to develop your skills, make best use of it, so that you double this amount and generate a stable income. This scheme provides financial assistance to youth through formation of SHGs in order to achieve self-reliance by way of different livelihood generations”.

 

Earlier, the District Agriculture Officer, Seikhodam Thangew elaborated about the scheme. He said that the main objective of launching the scheme is to provide proper employment opportunities to the people of the state of Assam. Through this scheme, many employment opportunities will be generated in the rural and also urban areas of the state. The unemployed youth can start new ventures and the existing entrepreneurs may take up to grow their value addition with the help of the support received from the government.

 

NCHAC Chairperson Smti Ranu Langthasa also spoke on the occasion, urging the beneficiaries to take up income-generating activities like manufacturing, trading and other service sector.

 

Among others, Addl. Deputy Commissioner  Dipak Jidung, other senior officials and party officials also attended the programme, which concluded with a vote of thanks by Liensonglal Hrangkhol.
