DC Paul Barua sensitizes general public in Haflong market

 


Haflong, 24th
April 2021 :
  With gradual increase in COVID-19 positive cases in Dima Hasao district, the District Administration under the
aegis of Deputy Commissioner Paul Barua visited Haflong Saturday market, as a
part of the sensitization programme in a bid to increase adherence to the COVID
protocol in Haflong market.




The
market areas specially being the infection prone spot, was emphasized on the
need for wearing face masks, using hand sanitizers and maintaining physical
distance. DC Paul Barua along with ADCs, DSP, Asst Commissioners, DIPRO and
DPO, DDMA  and other officials handed
over face masks to the vegetable and fruit sellers in the market and asked them
to be cautious in the wake of the second wave of the COVID pandemic.




Emphasizing
how the second wave would spread faster than the first, DC Barua highlighted to
adhere to the SOP issued by the government. He also interacted with the traders
and vendors and instructed them to strictly follow precautionary measures such
as maintaining of distance among the customers by noticeable marking to be
drawn on the shops ground, use of sanitizers and masks. He also asked them to
stick “No mask, no entry” notices in front of every shop.




According
to official data, since 1st March till 23rd April, 2021,
45 numbers of people are found to be Covid positive in Dima Hasao of which 38
have been migrated out. Although the recovery rate of the infected persons is
found to be 15.79%, 31 persons are still in home isolation while one person admitted
in Haflong Civil Hospital and the rest have recovered .




It is
to be noted that the medical team have placed their counter in market area at
Lal field in Haflong for free Rapid Antigen test (RAT) today, where people can
get themselves tested.


 The District administration has made it mandatory for
any person from outside the district entering Dima Hasao to undergo the RAT
test as a measure for prevention from COVID-19.
