3 days Mega Vaccination drive in Dima Hasao from June 21 – 23 with Apex bodies

 


Haflong, 19th June, 2021:  Seeking the co operation of Apex bodies of the district, the North Cachar Hills Autonomous and the District Administration convened Joint Meeting with the APEX bodies at Haflong today.


The meeting was held at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner, considering the seriousness of the effects of Covid-19 and witnessing the hesitation of people to take a jab of Covid vaccine.


The meeting was jointly presided over by NCHAC Executive Member incharge for Medical Mr. Samuel Changsan and Dima Hasao Deputy Commissioner Mr. Paul Barua ACS in presence of NCHAC Secretary in-charge Medical Mr. Thai Tso Daulagupu ACS, ADC in-charge Health from Administration side Mr. Lalrohlu Khiengte ACS, Joint Director Medical & Health Services Dr. Dipali Barman and other officials.


Briefing about the instruction of the Chief Minister regarding various immediate steps to be undertaken for the vaccination drive, DC Paul Barua said that Assam is hopeful to complete vaccinating people by August last.


Attending the meeting, representatives of all the APEX bodies put forward their doubts and suggestions in regards to vaccination drive in the district. The idea is to involve the civil society organizations on a more active role to complement the efforts of the government in making people aware about the importance of covid vaccine and do away with the rumors making rounds through various medium.


It was discussed during the meeting on how a mega vaccination drive for three days is on pipeline to begin from 21st till 23rd June, where Dima Hasao is targeted to vaccinate 3000 people per day i.e cumulatively 9000 in three days overall target in Assam is one crore.


Addressing the meeting on health, social, and economic crises caused by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, EM Samuel Changsan requested the representatives of Apex bodies that it is only through this collaborative effort, lives can be saved and economy can be kept running.


A vote of thanks was delivered by ADC Khiengte, stating that for the sake of lives lost and the rest of humanity, the vaccination drive must be made successful with the help of people by creating maximum awareness.
