COVID-19 positive woman delivers a
healthy baby at Langting Model Hospital,
Langting on 5th June 2021 in Dima Hasao district of Assam.
This is the first case in Langting area that a COVID-19 positive pregnant woman delivered a child in
the hands of medical team ever since pandemic strike.
Langting is a small
town, situated at around 83 kms by road from the district headquarter, Haflong.
The area has high surge in COVID cases
recently.
A healthy baby girl
was delivered when the pregnant lady reporting of labour pain was admitted to the hospital at Langting and tested covid
positive while undergoing normal procedure there .
Apart from slight cough and
cold the lady is said to be healthy, as conveyed by the medical team.
The delivery was
successfully conducted by the medical team lead by medical officer, Dr. Madab
Paul along with Dr. Nemdew Thengew, GNM, sister Henuli Naiding and BPM, Jaydeep
Sinha.
Along with the lady
other, four family
members have also tested covid positive and have been taken
to covid care centre, located in Langting.
It is to be noted that thirteen such cases have earlier been successfully attended at Haflong civil hospital, first one being on 9th July, 2020 under the supervision of Dr. Dipali Barman who is also Joint Director of the Health services of Dima Hasao along with Dr. Ronald Bathari and other nursing staff of Haflong Civil Hospital.
