DDMA hands over Oxygen concentrators to Haflong Civil Hospital

Barua, handed over the oxygen concentrators to the authorities of Haflong Civil
Hospital 
today  at DC office conference Hall, Haflong


The oxygen concentrators, recently received from an NGO named 'Medical Oxygen for All “ (MOfA),  was ceremoniously handed over to Joint Director of Health Services Dr. Dipali Barman and Superintendent of Haflong Civil Hospital Dr. Kalpana Kemprai.


Altogether out of seven districts in Assam, Dima Hasao district
was chosen as one of their noble beneficiaries which was handed over to the
representative of the Deputy Commissioner, Ibon Teron, Asst Commissioner at
Guwahati on Sunday last.
 


A total of 15
numbers of Oxygen concentrators were received consisting of 10 numbers of 10 L
capacity and 5 numbers of 5L capacity. It is to be noted that one 10 L of
oxygen concentrator can be given to two persons at the same time whereas one
person with the 5 L concentrator.




Out of 15 oxygen concentrators, 3 have been kept at the
disposal of Dist. Disaster Management Authority, Dima Hasao and rest 12 numbers
are yygiven to Haflong Civil Hospital.




With the increasing number of covid positive patients
everyday in Dima Hasao and limited resources, such gesture by the MOfA has been
highly appreciated by DC Paul Barua. Speaking highly of the NGO he further
added how positively and swiftly the NGO responded, after his office wrote to
them on seeing an invitation of support during this COVID crisis.

districts across India have received their generous donation. In North East alone,
123 Oxygen concentrators have been distributed in total, out of which 78 have been
given to Assam alone.




As per today’s report 58 new positive cases have added
taking the toll to 1536 since March till date.




A group of 25 NRIs
(Non-Resident Indians) from across the globe have come together to help India
in this unprecedented time of crisis. 

The focus of this initiative of MOfA, is
to source medical grade oxygen cylinders, canisters, concentrators and generators
from across the world and provide these to the smaller districts,
metropolitan cities and towns.
