Mega Vaccination Drive starts with a targets to inoculate 3000 per day in Dima Hasao

 

Haflong,
21^st June, 2021:
 With a target to vaccinate 3000 per day,
the Medical team in Dima Hasao started its three days mega vaccination drive
from today, the 21^st to 23^rd June, in cooperation with
the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council Authorities and District
Administration.

The team set up 59
vaccination sites for today and also for special vaccination day on Saturdays
and Sundays separately for people with diabetes, cancer and other chronic
diseases. 

The programme aim to administer
vaccines to all persons above the age of 18 years in all vaccination sites around
the district.

According to the data
available with the health department, a total of 11,941 have completed their second
dose of vaccination while 23,112 people are waiting for their second dose.

The figure is expected to rise
in good number post the Mega Vaccination drive and till the time of filing this
report 2576 have been administered their dose of covid vaccine in Dima Hasao
which means the target set can be considered achieved. 

The mega campaign is
seen to be progressing compared to the initial hesitation from sections of
people due to rumours relating to vaccination. 

However, rigorous awareness
drive inclusively by council administration, district administration, medical
team, Information & Public Relations department, media, NGOs and civil
societies is resulting in positive outcome.
