Haflong, 5th August 2021 : Expressing concern
over the news item about the entry of Myanmar nationalists in Mizoram and some
try to enter Dima Hasao, the IPF offer its unconditional support and
cooperation to the authority concerned and thereby sincerely appeal to the
general public to extend similar support and be united to protect and promote
common interest.
This was stated in a press statement on 4th
August 2021 by Zion L Faihriem Secretary Information &
Publicity Indigenous People’s Form(IPF) N.C.Hills(DimaHasao), Assam.
The statement says, “ The Indigenous People’s Forum(IPF)
is deeply concerned with the news report of the hon’ble Chief Minister of
Assam, Dr. HimantaBiswaSarma making statement in an interview about 10,000
Myanmar nationalists had entered Mizoram and some are all set to enter Assam
with destination to settle in our hill district. That particular news was
further collaborated by the local news channel, NDH airing apprehension stating
that though Mr. Jayant Singh, the Superintendent of Police of DimaHasao didn’t
divulge the details, they have source of information and evidences to
substantiate the presence of some Myanmar citizens settled in DimaHasao is
indeed a matter of serious concern for all indigenous inhabitants of Assam and
DimaHasao in particular.”
The IPF seriously taking cognizance of this media report
submitted memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Dima Hasao urging him to
take preemptive role to check any kind of illegal infiltration, be it from
Myanmar or from Bangladesh or from anywhere else. The Indigenous People’s Forum
vehemently expresses its wholehearted solidarity with the district
administration and the people of the district in the crusade to protect and
safeguard the interest of the district and upholding integrity.
The Forum therefore fully extends its unconditional
support and cooperation to the authority concerned and thereby sincerely appeal
to the general public to extend similar support and be united to protect and
promote our common interest.
