Haflong,May 14, 2022: The continuous heavy rainfall
created havoc in Dima Hasao district.
Three persons died at Hokai Pungchi village in Dehamlai
constituency when two storey building collapsed due to landslide.
The deceased are identified as Peramsuilungbe Jeme,
Kiseteung Jeme and Nchilungle Jeme.
The incident took place
in the morning that the two storey building collapsed on them when
landslide occurred in the morning.
The incident left four persons of the same family under
pile of earth.
The villagers somehow rescued one lady. But the other
three persons died on the spot as the three persons have stuck in the debris.
On learning the news, Security forces rushed to the spot.
The team along with local youth searched
by clearing debris.
As a result, they have retrieved two among the three and
search operation is going on till filing of this reports.
Landslide occurred in various places damaging residential
places, road and railway communications.
Meanwhile, the authorities of Northeast Frontier Railway
(NFR) has cancelled/ terminated and short terminated12 trains running through
Lumding-Badarpur BG Expansion Line.
The 15888 Down Vistadome has beenterminated at Langting
Railway station in the Dima Hasao district, while 15165 Guwahati-Silchar
Express reached at New Haflong at 8.30 am has been short terminated at New
Haflong railway station.15616 Up Silchar-Guwahati Express which arrived at
Ditokcherra railway station at 10.02 am has been controlled till the
restoration of the line.
13173 Up Kanchanjunga train which arrived at Maibang at
9.20 am has been short terminated at Maibang railway station.
13174 Up Kanchanjkangha Express which arrivedat Badarpur
at 12.15 pm has been partially controlled at Badarpur.
12504 Humsafar Express which arrived at1.25 pm has been
terminated at Badarpur station.
01665 Rani Kamlapati (Habibganj) -Agartalatrain has been
short terminated at Lumding railway junction.
14038 New Delhi Silchar train has been partially
cancelled in Lumding railway junction.
15642 Silchar New Tinsukia Expres scheduled to leave
Silchar at 10.10 pm has been cancelled at Silchar railwaystation.15626 Agartala
–Deoghar scheduled to leaveAgartala at 7 pm has been cancelled.15611 Guwahati

landslide on the rail route between Maibang and Mahur was also reported on
Thursday, after which a passenger trains was stopped at Maibang railway
station.
