Haflong, 5th June, 2022: Like every year the World
Environment day was observed across the district of Dima Hasao in different
ways. While the Forest department centrally observed the occasion at Haflong
inviting all the VIPS and also distributing and planting saplings, different
departments such as Public Health Engineering, Block Offices, Education department,
Sericulture department, Medical department etc also organized plantation drive
at different places.
The Haflong Government College organized a various
programme such as cleaning their campus, sapling plantation and meeting to
discuss about issues and bring awareness about the problems the world is facing
now due such as air pollution, global warming and plastic pollution.
Chief
Conservator of Forest Muanthang Tungnung, IFS along with DFO Tuhin Langthasa
and departmental officers organized a special programme in Halfong on theme
“Only One Earth”.
Others present during the programme were Executive Member of
North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council Nojit Kemprai, Council Principal
Secretary of normal sector Mukut Kemprai, Council Secretary Debanon Daulagupu,
Superintendent of Police Jayant Singh, IPS, Asst Commissioner Ibon Teron,
Professor Dr. Sarbojit Thaosen and other officers and staff of the department.
