Haflong, 10 March 2023 : Haflong Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (East) organized Ex-Servicemen Reunion Rally in collaboration with Zila Sainik Office, Haflong at Assam Rifles Battalion Headquarters, Haflong for Veterans and Veer Naris of Dima Hasao District, Assam on 10 March 2023.
The Reunion rally was organized under the theme Serving Those Who Served Us. The aim of the rally was to connect and strengthen bonds with the Veterans & Veer Naris and also to acknowledge their immense contribution & dedication towards the Nation during prime of their lives.
A grand reception was organized for all Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naris where grievances, all types of their problems/ issues were documented. The Veterans & Veer Naris were informed about various beneficiary schemes including the recruitment rallies, sports quota for recruitment in Armed Forces, reservation in various educational institutes/ hostels, introduction of SPARSH App and Ex-Servicemen contributory health schemes (ECHS).
The rally was attended by a total of 99 Veterans, Veer Naris and their dependents from across the Dima Hasao District, Assam. During the event 25 Veterans and Veer Naris who participated in 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War were felicitated.
The veterans and veer naris expressed their immense satisfaction and appreciation for the efforts of Haflong Battalion of Assam Rifles for organising the event and providing a single platform to project their problems / unresolved issues.
