Anundoram Borooah Award in Dima Hasao

Haflong, December 2,2011 – Altogether 190 successful students from 30 different schools received personal Laptops under the Chief Minister’s Anundoram Borooah Award Scheme 2011on November 30, 2011 at Cultural Institute Hall,Haflong.

The ceremonial distribution programme was organized by the District Administration and the Deputy Commissioner of the district Dilip Borthaku predided over the meeting, while the Executive Member for Education Kalijoy Sengyung graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chiefguest Sengyung recalled the contributions of Late Aanundoram Barooh and exhorted the student community to live up to the expectations of the educationist. He also encouraged the teaching staffs to do their best for upbringing the students to become good citizens.

The Deputy Commissioner Dilip Borthakur praised the successful students and also encouraged them to try their best so that they may shine in near future, becoming successful personalities.

All the successful students securing 1^st Division in the last HSLC examination i.e 2010 were given the award by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries in front of the gathering.

Earlier, a condolence meet was held with  a two minute silence prayer as a mark of respect to the departed souls of Late Dr.Bhupen Hazarika and Late Dr. Mamoni Raisom Goswami.
