Healing Touch by Assam Rifles to locals of remote villages in Dima Hasao District
25 Assam Rifles under Red Shield Division conducted medical camps in various back ward villages of Diam Hasao District under Operation Sadbhahvan project. The medical camps were conducted on 15 Mar 12 at Naidingpur, 16 Mar 12 at Goliabra, 19 Mar 12 at Muchudi, 20 Mar 12 at Samparidisa.
Villagers in large numbers which included Male, Female and children alongwith school student from remote villages availed the facility of free medical treatment. Doctor’s from 25 Assam Rifles attended to the patients alongwith nursing staff. Besides providing medicines for a variety of diseases and ailments, some patients were also referred for advance treatment. The medical officer of 25 Assam Rifles also spoke on health and hygiene to the local peoples. He also educated them regarding importance of a balance diet, vitamin deficiency and methods for their prevention by locally available natural resources. He also explained the mode of spread of water borne diseases and precautions which are to be taken for their eradication. Medicine ere also distributed to the villagers free of cost.
The occasion witnessed unprecedented synergy between the security forces and civilians. The villagers of expressed their gratitude towards the Assam Rifles for their sincere and unassuming dedication towards addressing the problems of the hill people in remote areas.
