On the occasion a brief public meeting was held at Ramkrishna Mission after lighting the lamp and offering flower to Netajis portrait .
The public meeting was addressed by Biswajit Chakroborty, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Rajat Kanti Nath, Secretary, Nikhil Bharat Banga Sahitya Sammelan on the biography of Neatji Subhash Ch. Basu. While ,Dr. Nirmal Singh, Wellness Coach,Haflong, in his valuable speech given details on ill-effects of in toxic substances in the society and urge the youth to keep away from intoxicating substance like smoking, alcohol, drugs, tobacco to remain healthy and strong to become a responsible future citizen of society and to safeguard the Nation as a whole.
On the day a procession was held accompanied by several vehicle carrying portrait of Netaji with slogan and playing patriotic song from Ramakrishna Mission ,Haflong to Lower Haflong .The procession halted in several spots ,like in cultural institute hall, taxi stand, sarkari bagan and in lower Haflong for public where patriotic song performed by children’s and speech were given by Biplob Deb, Bikramjit Chaudhury and others on the works and life of the Neatji towards the independent struggle of the Nation in each spot general public have also paid homage to Netaji with flower garland.
The day long program was also attended by Tusha Kanti Deb, Dy. Chairman, N.C.Hills Autonomous Council with other dignitaries and huge public gathering. Latter, the occasion was ended with vote thanks from Abhijit Dhar of Ramakrishna Mission, Haflong.
