, Jan 17: Know Your Army Campaign, the army awareness week on the Army Day 2014 ‘started from 13th,15th and 16th January respectively in Dima Hasao district concluded.The Army unit under 22 Sector Assam Rifles at Maibong, has conducted a variety of program to promote awareness about Army and to enhance civil - military Interaction district.
In Maibong general public, youths, students of schools-colleges of the area were educated and guided on the career opportunities offered in the defence forces in many sectors. A weapon and equipment display was also organised for the local people to increase awareness about the Army and its strength to protect the Nation. While, the community in general were mich curious and took part in sports and all other events. During the event people of far flung adjoining areas were also benefited from the free medical camp organized by the Army.
Similarly as scheduled Army Melas was also organised at Langting and Mahur where hundreds of school children, parents and general public gathered, the locals authority and people of the locality appreciated the initiative taken up by the Army to educate and transform the youth of the district . The campaign also served as an eye opener to the participant’s fully on opportunities available for personal development and in inculcating the spirit of national integration.
