Bushu Dima Celebrated in Haflong


Haflong, Feby 2: Bushu the most prevalent festival of the dimasa tribes was celebrated in Haflong like every year centrally with full of gaiety. The two days program was organized by the Central Bushu celebration committee , held at DSA Ground, Haflong, Dima Hasao and observed with traditional rituals.

On the occasion strength sports and a variety of traditional games being organized on the other hand man, women’s and youths with their colourful dresses’ performed traditional dances and songs with joy and happiness ,beating drums called ‘Khram’, play flutes made from bamboo called ‘murri and khram dubung.
The festival is started from 27th January and celebrated in different areas of Dima Hasao district like Gunjung, Diyungbra, Harangajao and Maibong to mention few. This is a festival of harvesting and rejoicing newly grown rice and other social rituals, which reflects the culture and tradition and symbolizes the unity and way of life among the community.
