Haflong ,January,17: The 25th Road Safety week is being observed in Haflong and in the district from 11th January to 17th January 2014, organised jointly by the District Administration and Hills Development Society, Haflong.
Shri. Si-im Taro, Addl. Deputy Commissioner, speaking on the occasion said that hundreds of people lost their life due to lack of road safety ever year and urged people to adopt all the safety profile under MV Act, see p-4
such as wearing of helmet, limiting speed, avoid using of mobile phones, drinking while driving, pedestrian to keep left and to use footpath in order to prevent accident.
During the day a procession was also flagged off by Mirgenjoy Thaosen, EAC, Dima Hasao ,Haflong at 10:30 AM from Taxi Stand ,Haflong took part by Auto ,Bus and others including non government organization displaying poster, banner and placard on road safety with tips on road safety and various measures on prevention.
