Haflong, March 19: In order to ensure smooth, free fair and peaceful conduct of Parliamentary election in the 16 Haflong (ST) LAC Segment of the 3- Autonomous District (ST) Parliamentary Constituency, preparation is going on in full swing.
Detailed plan of action has already been chalked out for performance of various duties to be carried out by the election machinery prior to, during and after the poll. Altogether 34( thirty-four) different cells have been constituted and started functioning to ensure free and fair election process and prompt disposable of the works related to conduct of the poll scheduled to be held on April 12 next.
In the meantime, Deputy Commissioner and the District Election Officer of Dima Hasao held several meetings with different political parties, Police Officials, Departmental Heads and Village Headman for smooth conduct of the poll process. Briefing media persons today the Deputy Commissioner Barun Bhuyan informed the various data’s regarding Electoral roll, EPIC and sensitive polling stations, etc.The 16 Haflong (ST) LAC Segment has 190 total number of Polling Stations, out of which 59 are hyper sensitive, 52 are sensitive and remaining 79 are normal. The Photo Electoral Percentage in the district is 88%. The Draft Roll till the 1st Supplement stands at 133993 (Male- 68091, Female- 65899, others- 3). Control Room relating to the Parliamentary Election 2014 has also been set up in the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Haflong with the Phone No. 03673- 239008.
