Haflong, Nov19: Living up to the tradition of being called ‘Friends of the hill people’ and in its continuous efforts to extend help to the poor and needy people of the Dima Hasao District.
The Haflong based 43 Assam Rifles conducted a free Medical Camp at New Kunjung on 18 November 2014. The camp was organised keeping in view the various ailments arising due to change in weather conditions. The camp was conducted by the Medical Officer and the Hospital Staff from 43 Assam Rifles in conjunction with medical staff of Holy Spirit Hospital, Haflong.
A total of 151 villagers of New Kunjung and nearby villages were benefited from the medical camp.
The villagers expressed their gratitude to 43 Assam Rifles for their efforts in living up to the tradition ,the villagers also have made special requirement to Assam Rifles Battalion to have more such camps in near future. The unit also facilitated the villagers to purchase grocery and handloom products primarily aiming to win the hearts of the villagers
