Haflong, November 23, 2014 : The 43 Assam Rifles through their sustained efforts has brought a peace and harmony in the Dima Hasao District within short time of their arrival. The change has brought
a sense of security and confidence in the minds of local people towards Security Forces. Now the local populace is looking forward towards brighter tomorrow and development in the region, which was denied to them mainly due to disturbances caused by terrorists of NSCN(IM).
In two successful operations 43 Assam Rifles have eliminated six hardcore militants of NSCN (IM) which itself is commendable.
The unit is further assisting poor and needy people of Dima Hasao by organising regular medical camps alongwith outlets of grocery and day to day used products at concessional rates. These measures taken by the unit is being recognised by one and all, and becoming very popular among locals.The Gaon Burha (GB) organisation has also appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles.
The local Civil Administration and people of Dima Hasao District are extending their full support and co-operation towards peace, stability and development in the region and are grateful to Assam Rifles for their actions to beat the nefarious designs of terrorist, which is unprecedented, heartening and welcome change in their attitude and outlook.
