...Haflong Press Club Re-organized with Rigid Rules
Earlier, with an aim to strengthen the media in the district and to help maintain the required standard, the Haflong Press Club was re-organized with selection of new office-bearers and inducting more new members on 16th November 2014 near DIPRO office, Haflong and its first meeting was held on 22 November 2014 at the same place.
The new office-bearers selected in the meeting on November 16 : president Anup Biswas; Vice-Presidents L.K.Hengna and Surjyo Thaosen; Secretary Samsul Alam; Asstt.Secretary Bipob Deb; Office Secretary Sivan Nath; and, Finance Seretary Pankaj Deb.
Besides, DIPRO is to be ex-officio Adviser; while CEM and EM i/c I&PR to act as ex-officio Patrons.
In the first meeting on 22 November, few Executive members were selected and resolved to have own constitution with rigid criteria for membership.
The meeting unanimously selected L.K.Hengna, Vice-President and Editor of The Haflong Times/ Haflong news to draft the constitution to be approved in the next meeting. It was also resolved that a news about members of the Haflong Press Club with its criteria, and other necessary matters will be widely circulated.
