Haflong, June 11:- First of its kind in Dima Hasao, a ‘Bamboo Hut’ (‘Wah Ni Noh’ in Dimasa), built by the Forest Department under DFO (East Division) Puranjoi Phonglo in Eco-Park at Dedaodip near Maibang was formerly inaugurated by the Chief Executive Member of N.C Hills Autonomous Council Debojeet Thaosen on 10th June in the presence of NCHAC Chairman Ngamrothang Hmar,
Executive Members, MAC’s, DFO (E) Puronjoi Phonglo and staff and many others.
The Eco-Park cum Bamboo Hut is constructed under Social Forestry (State Plan) Year 2012-13 of Dima Hasao Forest Division (East). It is in the road side of the new construction of National Highway 54 and is in between Mahur and Maibang. The Hut is built with bamboo ply, good to look at as well as is said to be a guaranteed for 80 to 100 year to last according to the staffs.
