Haflong, June 5: Observing the World Environment Day, the N.C Hills Autonomous Council initiated massive plantation in Dima Hasao District under the aegis of ‘ Mukhyomontrir Asomor Nirmal Aru Seuj Abhijan’ on the 5th June 2015.
On the occasion, all the Officers and Employees of Govt. Departments under the administrative control of NCHAC, schools, students, teachers etc, undertook positive environmental development activities in and around their work places like maintenance of hygiene, cleaning of surroundings, plantation of saplings etc.
According to the sources in District Information and Public Relation, around 2 lakh numbers of free saplings were freely distributed by the Forest Department. District Administration,Corporates & industries, NGO’s, CBO’s also joined the abhijan to create a healthy and better environment.
