HAFLONG, May 4: With an aim to help the farmers and Self Help Groups, organized a One Day Training Programme on Mechanized and Scientific Farming, Land Reclamation, Kitchen Garden etc. for the year 2015-16 which, accordingly, was held from 11 am onwards on May 4,2016 in the premises of District Agriculture (Engineer) Training Room, Haflong.
The programme was attended by many farmers and members of Self-Help Groups from two development Block areas Mahur and Harangajao Blocks.
In the day long programme, the Executive Engineer of Agriculture Department, Haflong Faizal Islam, along with Asst. Engineer P.D Barman and Junior Engineer P. Chetia instructed the participants how to apply modern technology. They also said that the agriculture department will provide mechanical subsidies to them along with seeds of various plants & mechanical equipments like power tiller, water pump etc. After the program the department demonstrated the operating of mechanical equipments to the farmers. The department light provided refreshment and bears the cost of Fooding, travelling expenses of the farmers who came from remote places.
