DSS released 3 Books in language at Haflong

 


Haflong, November 21, 2020 : With its main activity for promoting literature of the Dimasa language, the  Dimasa Lairidim Mel, Dimasa Sahitya Sabha in its executive committee meeting  released  three books in Dimasa vernacular.

The meeting was held on 20th November 2020 at Haflong Town Raji Community Hall, Haflong  by maintaining COVID protocol.

 

The books, published by the Dimasa Sahitya Sabha,  are the ‘Dimasa Khuragai Kharmin’ Volume I collection of Dimasa oral stories ‘Khabaih Kharimin’ compilation of Dimasa short stories, and the ‘Khurang’ journal of Dimasa Sahitya Sabha containing Dimasa stories, poetry, etc.

 

The meeting was presided over by DSS President  Dinendra Thaosen, along with DSS vice president and senior most member of the sabha Nojendra Nunisa from Diphu Karbi Anglong, DSS General Secretary Ringpendra Nunisa and DSS Dima Hasao District Committee President Kalijoy Sengyung.

 

The meeting was also attended by the Treasurer of DSS Kumudh Ranjan Kemprai, DSS members - Surjya Thaosen, Teacher Satyabrata Kemprai, social activist Phaiprang Phonglo, Samarjit Haflongbar former MLA and CEM NCHAC, Circle Inspector of Schools Ramesh Kemprai and other members along with media persons representing different print and electronic media consisting of the news TV channels and YouTube news channels namely Samsul Alam, Pankaj Timung, Miss Alisa nunisa, Suroj Barman and others.

 

In the meeting, the venue and date of the next Annual General Meeting /Conference of Dimasa Lairidim Mel or Dimasa Sahitya Sabha has been fixed at Guwahati scheduled to be held on 27th and 28th February 2021.

Regarding medium of instructions in mother tongue to be introduced at Lower Primary Level instead of present additional subject of Dimasa text book being taught in LP schools based on New Education Policy, the meeting has decided that members delegates of the sabha will negotiate with the authority of NC Hills Autonomous Council within short period.

 

 Further, the executive committee of the sabha suggested that proposal of the Constitution Amendment Sub-committee, Dimasa Sahitya Sabha be placed in the forthcoming conference scheduled to be held on 27th and 28th February 2021 at Guwahati. Eventually, Dima Hasao Sahitya Sabha president Kalijoy Sengyung and Surjya Thaosen both the members of Indigenous Tribals Sahitya Sabha of Assam from Dimasa Sahitya Sabha, who represented the sabha in the executive meeting of the ITSSA held on 8th November at Socio-cultural Centre of Bodo Sahitya Sabha, Guwahati gave an appraisal on its proceedings and resolutions in the meeting.
