Haflong, January 5, 2021 : The newly constructed Auditorium at Songpijang was inaugurated by the Chief Executive Member of N.C.Hills Autonomous Council Debolal Gorlosa today at 12:30PM in presence of NCHAC Chairman Smti. Ranu Langthasa and other dignitaries and general public.
The ceremonial inaugural programme was also attended by Executive Members of NCHAC Samuel Changsan, Ngamrothang Hmar and Smti. Nandita Gorlosa; MACs like Bimol Hojai, Nojit Kemprai, Projit Hojai and Liton Chakraborty.
Other dignitary present were Principal Secretary (T) to NCHAC Smti. Lalneizovi Nampui, Executive Engineer PWD Building with AEE, Presidents of Apex Body of KIA, JNH and Hrangkhol; GBs of Songpijang, Bhanjang, Diyung and Boro Haflong.
The huge gathering includes leaders of the Churches, KIA, KSO, Village committee, SYC, VDP, Youth and general public.
Members of Kuki Women Welfare Society and Youth performed many Kuki traditional dances, while Choral teams from local Churches presented different songs.
The gathering was addressed by CEM Debolal Gorlosa, NCHAC Chairman Smti. Ranu Langthasa, EM Samuel Changsan and others.
On the occasion, Songpijang Gaon Burah Lamkai Guite on behalf of the Village Committee submitted a memorandum to the CEM, which was read out by Compere of the programme Miss Chingnu Guite.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest CEM Gorlosa reminded the gathering that the building has been constructed under MoS Scheme, in which he is the Chairman of the Implementation Committee. He appealed all the gathering to extend supporting help and to co operate with the authority in the Council so that more development may be done with the slogan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ‘Sop ke sath Sopke Vikas’.
Replying the demand of Songpijang Village Committee in their Memorandum, the CEM approved for the Management of the Auditorium by the Songpijang Village Committee and renamed it after the founder of Songpijang Late Ngullam Guite.
Mr. Debolal also dwelled at length about the movement and joining of mainstream by DHD and the ongoing development works by ruling in the NCHills Autonomous Council. He conveyed thanks to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal and Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for providing every assistance towards the development of Dima Hasao district.
Addressing the gathering, EM Samuel Changsan expressed gratitude to the CEM Debolal Gorlosa and all the Executive Committee members of the Council for sanctioning the fund for construction of the Auditorium. He also extended thanks to the Executive Engineer PWD (Building) Department with staffs and Contractors, the Village committee of Songpijang with SYC and others.
Mr. Samuel also appealed to the general public, especially the Kuki Community in general and Songpijang villagers in particular for every co operation with the Council authority and the ruling party for more and more development works in the district.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks from Village Secretary H. Haolai.
