Panimur Falls become a Famous Picnic Spot for many in Dima Hasao

 

Haflong,
January 4, 2021 : ‘Panimur’ near Umrangso become famous as Picnic spot with the
increasing visitors from different parts of the district and from outside the
district of Dima Hasao.

As
per local people of Panimur Water Falls area, around one thousand tourists
visit the spot daily and held picnic, enjoying the scenic beauty of the place.

This
is good and encouraging news for promoting the place as tourist spot. However,
without proper provision for arrangement of dumping place environment pollution
may increase. As such, the concern departments, like Tourism and Forest
department should take step to arrange garbage dumping place or dusbin.      

It may be stated that this famous picnic spot, Panimur
Falls is near Umrangso in Dima Hasao district of Assam.  

The Fall is formed out of the Kopili river.  It is situated at about 30 km
from Umrangso town while it is around 150 km away from the headquarter of the
district, Haflong.

It must
also be noted that Haflong is the only hill station in Assam. Haflong itself is
known for its Lake in the Hill top. Whereas, Umrangso can be said industrial
town of the district with tourist spots like Golf Course, where ‘Falcon
Festival’ is organized every year.

Many tourists visit Umrangso, especially ‘Panimur Fall’
every year  during autumn and winter to
enjoy attraction and eye- catching Waterfall and to enjoy the panoramic scenic beauty of the
area  with evergreen
forest .
