Congress not to implement Panchayati Raj system in his districts but to implement Article 244(A) of Indian Constitution

 

Haflong,
March 30, 2021 : The Indian National Congress promised not to implement
Panchayati Raj system in hills district of Assam but  implement Article 244(A) of the Indian Constitution
to facilitate  creation of an Autonomous
State comprising Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao
(earlier North Cachar Hills) districts of Assam.

.This was
stated by the INC candidate for 16 Haflong (ST) Legislative Assembly
Constituency, Nirmal Langthasa while addressing a public rally at DSA ground in
Haflong today, 30^th March 2021.

Later, All India Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also assured to fulfil
the promised, which are also included in the Congress Manifesto.

In his video message, Mr. Gandhi promised not to implement Panchayati
Raj system in Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao but implement Article 244(A) If the
Congress comes to power in Assam.

To implement Article 244(A) means creation of an Autonomous State within
the state, comprising the hills districts of Assam, such as Karbi Anglong and
Dima Hasao (earlier North Cachar Hills) districts.

Rahul Gandhi was scheduled to attend the Rally at Haflong. But he
couldn't come due to bad weather and continued rainfall. So, he sent the video statement
meant for the people of Dima Hasao and Karbi Anglong districts.

In his
message, the AICC leader also said that the Congress will not enforce CAA but
create  employment opportunity to the
unemployed youth, Rs 2000 to each house wife, job guarantee to one member in
each family, etc.

Earlier, the
Congress candidate Nirmal Langthasa also highlighted the Congress Manifesto
when he was addressing the huge gathering in the Rally.

In the rally
several thousands of people from different communities and different parts of
the district thronged expecting national INC president Rahul Gandhi to address
the rally as a star campaigner but however was not able to attend due to heavy
down pouring since Tuesday morning.

Among others,
the rally was also attended by ex EM Mahendra Kemprai, Congress MLA from
Chatishgar Konwansing Nisad, seating Haflong MAC Daniel Langthasa and Umrangso
MAC Joysing Durong, former MLA and district congress spoke person Samarjit
Haflongbar, cong VC Kalijoy Sengyung, Mayanan Kemprai, several cong leaders
from Chattisgarh and other senior congress leaders.

Autonomous
State Demand Committee (ASDC) president Monjit Karigapsa in his speech
explained that his partyt decided to extend its support to Congress for being
committed to fight for creation of Autonomous State under Article 244 (A) of
Indian Constitution.

Former MLA
Samarjit Haflongbar criticized the present Executive Committee of NCHAC led by
the BJP for syndicate of commodities continuing in Haflong market that has
increased the price rise. Besides, he highlighted the involvement of present
CEM Debolal Gorlosa in collection of stones and sands from all local rivers and
possessing huge public land properties.
