Haflong, April 18, 2021 : Movement of Polling officials for re-poll in 16-Haflong (ST) Legislative Assembly Counstituency started.
Polling officials for re-poll in 107 Mouldam and 107A Khothlir polling centre under 16 Haflong (ST) LA constituency moved to their respective destination on 18th April 2021.
The re-poll will be held on April 20 and the polling officials have been sent off with all basic amenities and EVMs.
The re-poll was order after 181 votes was registered against 90 voters in 107A Khotlir polling centre as some voters from 107 Mouldam polling centre casted their votes at 107A.
After the incident came to light, the District Election Officer suspended 5 polling officials for their carelessness.
The Election Commission of India in its press notes said that the auxiliary polling centre was created for the first time as earlier the main polling station recorded only 34% voters turn out in the last parliamentary election.
