Haflong,
28th July, 2021: Along with
the rest of the state, Desh Bhakti Divas was today observed in North Cachar
Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) secretariat complex, to honour Desh Bhakta
Tarun Ram Phukan on his 82nd death anniversary. Principal Secretary
of NCHAC, L.Z. Nampui, ACS and Principal Secretary (N) Mukut Kemprai along with
other Council Secretaries paid floral tribute during the programme.
Remembering
the six Assam Police personnel who lost their lives in the recent Assam Mizoram
border incident, Principal Secretary L Z Nampui during her speech expressed the
necessity of patriotism, unity and love for motherland by every Indian citizen.
Citing the life history of the multifaceted
personality she spoke in length about him as a politician, writer, hunter and
freedom fighter.
Another speaker on the occasion was Principal
Secretary of the Normal sector of NCHAC, Mukut Kemprai, who also narrated about
the life of the great personality.
As a part of the programme a one minute condolence
was held for the departed soul of the recently martyred police personnel.
The programme organized by Dist. Information
& Public Relations office under the guidance of NCHAC, Dima Hasao was
widely attended by officers and staff of various departments under the administrative control of
the NCHAC. The programme began with a floral tribute to the portrait of Desh
Bhakta Tarun Ram Phukan followed by felicitation of the guests present.
Other
present during the occasion were Planning Secy, TT Daulagupu, ACS, Council
Secy, S Ardao, NCHAC Dy Secy., Rebecca Changsan, Chief Conservator of Forest, M
Thungnung, IFS, newly appointed BDOs , Cultural & Publicity Officer, other
officers and staff of various depts., council including staff of DIPRO.
Similarly,
Desh Bhakta Divas was also organized at Deputy Commissioner’s Office where
Deputy Commissioner Paul Barua, ACS paid floral tribute to the portrait of
Tarun Ram Phukan. Along with him were ADC, L Khiengte, SDO (S), Election
Officer, Asstt Commissioners, other officers and staff of the district
administration.
