8th June 2022 : The lone MLA of 16- Haflong (ST) LAC Smti. Nandita
Gorlosa will take an Oath as Cabinet Minister along with Jayanta Malla Baruah at
Srimanta Sankaradev Kalakshetra, Guwahati, on June 9 at 3 PM.
The
people of Dima Hasao district are over joy with the news, sharing the news and Photos
of their beloved MLA in Social Media.
The Assam
Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma had last week, said that one MLA from
the Hill districts is likely to be inducted into his Cabinet when he expand the cabinet ministry on June 9.
Accordingly,
the Chief Minister, on June 7, announced that
the two MLA, Nandita Gorlosa and Jayanta
Malla Baruah will be inducted his cabinet on June 9. The swearing in ceremony will take place tomorrow, June 9 at
3 PM at Srimanta Sankaradev Kalakshetra, Guwahati.
It is
worth to be stated that if MLA Nandita Garlosa is inducted as Minister, Dima
Hasao will be getting this Cabinet berth after a gape of around 25 (twenty five)
years. The last minister from 16- Haflong (ST) LAC in NCHills (now Dima Hasao)
was Late Gobin Chandra Langthasa.
The
present MLA Nandita Garlosa was elected as a Member of the Assam Legislative
Assembly from the 16-Haflong LA Constituency in the last Election, May 2021 by defeating
Congress candidate Nirmal Langthasa, the son of Late GC Langthasa.
Nandita
Gorlosa is educated, dedicated and hard working person. She has already earned
named and respect while serving as Executive Member of North Cachar Hills
Autonomous Council. Her tireless work with site visit of almost all landslide
areas during recent natural calamity is a talk of the public.
The
present Cabinet, which was sworn in on May 10, 2021, includes 11 MLAs from BJP,
2 from AGP and one MLA from UPPL.
With the
present expansion, Cabinet will become 16 (sixteen) members.
