Haflong, 15thJune 2022 : The N C Hills Autonomous Council issued revised notification for PRC verification suspending the earlier notification.
Further, the N C Hills Autonomous Council also extended the date for submission of PRC verification up to 15 September,2022.
With due verification a fresh copy of PRC with QR code will be issued for which two passport size photograph ,original copy of PRC and documents as given in the revised notification has to be submitted.
Without, QR code and Council logo the PRC will be considered invalid from 16 September,2022.
Earlier, the authority of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council has decided to verify all the PRCs already issued by the Council to citizens of Dima Hasao district and requested all to submit their PRCs to the Revenue department for verification within a month.
This was stated by the Secretary, Revenue department Mr. Debanon Daolagupu in a press meet held in his office chamber on June 7, 2022.
The Secretary said that suspecting a case of PRC forgery, Lalnunpui Parate, applied to the Revenue department for verification of his PRC. On verification, the department found his PRC to be fake and forged.
So, Mr. Parate lodged an FIR to Haflong police station on June 7, stating that he had requested one Albert Lalngaisang Selate to apply for PRC for him and his elder brother, namely Lalrambuotsai Parate, as he would be busy with emergency duty.
Accordingly, Mr. Selate gave him the PRC after some days. But the PRC looks like fake. As such, he approached the Council authority for verification of the PRC.
Later, the officials of the Revenue Department found that the PRC, indeed was fake.
So, he filed the FIR and the Police registered a case vide Haflong PS case No 52/22 u/s 420/468 0f IPC.
This necessitates the NCHAC authority to verify all the PRCs issued by the Council.
