Committee on Estimates from Assam Legislative Assembly inspects Various Development works in Dima Hasao

 

Haflong, 11th November 2022: : The
Estimate Committee of Assam Legislative Assembly led by its chairman MLA Mr.
Prasanta Phukan came inspected Various Development works in Dima Hasao since
yesterday.




The team came on two days visit to
scrutinize the progress of schemes under eleven departments in the district.



The committee comprising of six
MLAs, twelve departmental officials and five Assam Assembly officials reached
Haflong and made spot visit of various projects.




The projects they visited are Bamboo
Industrial Park at Manderdisa, Horticulture garden at P.T Leike, Longsef,
Irrigation scheme at Chandpur Nagar, Mahur Residential School at Asong Haju,
Agriculture market and water supply schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission.



On the second day, November 11,
after a brief field visit, the team held a review meeting at Haflong circuit
house with the HODs of all departments under the council.




The committee scrutinized the entire
listed departments to check the implementation, progress, anomalies, and
quality control of various schemes.



Following the scrutiny, the
committee will submit a report in the Assembly, which will include findings and
recommendations regarding the schemes.




The eleven departments are PWD
(R&B), PHE, Water Resource, P&RD, Irrigation, Forest, Excise, Soil
Conservation, Fishery, Women & Child Development Dept, Agriculture and
Mines and Minerals

The Members of Legislative Assembly
present during the review meeting were Chairman & MLA of Dibrugarh Mr.
Prasanta Phukan, Khumtai MLA Mr. Mrinal Saikia, Mankachar MLA Mr. Aminul Islam,
Goalpara West MLA Mr. Abdur Rashid Mandal, MLA of Nagaon Mr. Rupak Sarmah and
MLA of Barkhetry Mr. Diganta Barman.




Apart from them others who
accompanied them were Addl Secretary to Govt. of Assam Mr. Deba Kumar Kalita
and Mr. Subrata Roy Bardhan, Jt. Secretary to govt of Assam Mr. Rajib
Bhattacharjee, Mr. P.K. Deori, Mr. M P Hassan and Mr. Kamaljit Talukdar and
others.
