National Voters’ Day observed at Haflong

Haflong, 25th January, 2023: Under the direction of the Election Commission of India,  National Voters Day was observed like the rest of the years  by the Election office at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Haflong along with rest of the nation.

 Deputy Commissioner Nazreen Ahmed, ACS attended the celebration as the chief guest.

As the part of the programme certificates were ceremoniously distributed to the new voters who recently attained the qualifying age of 18 years. 

Speechs were delivered by the Deputy Commissioner who congratulated the new voters and briefed about the objective of the celebration of the day.  

She further spoke about how free and fair election and voting right is important for people to practice in order to build a strong nation. 

 Addl. Deputy Commissioner  AR Mazumder who is also incharge of the Election Department, Dima Hasao also spoke on the occasion. 

A warm welcome speech was delivered by the Election officer Bruhid Rabha, ACS. 

Theme song released by the Election commission was also played during the programme.

 A short speech was also given by a student who represented the new voters.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by DIPRO and nodal officer SVEEP Purabi  Phonglo. The programme was attented by other ADCs viz. Kimchin Langum, Lalrohlu Khiengte, Asst Commisioners and AEROs, BLOs , officers, staff of the dept and parents
