Haflong, 24 April 2023 : Protest Rally was taken out today against bifurcation of Dima Hasao by Dimasa Apex Body Jadikhe Naisho Hashom (JNH) , Dimasa Student Union (DSU) , All Dimasa Student Union (ADSU)and supported All Apex Body Co ordination Committee (AABCC) at Haflong.
The Rallywas organized against the demand of bifurcation on Communal Line.
The protesters oppose revocation of the notification for verification of the PRC's.
They also demand to stop, what they called, spreading communal hatred and disharmony in the District for Self Political benefit.
The rally started from Lalfield to Synod Rotary and to Council Rotary and on turning back they submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma through Deputy Commissioner at Haflong.
Mention may be made here that the non Dimasa organization, Indigenous People Forum (IPF) is calling for Indefinite bandh from 26 April 2023 demanding immediate bifurcation of Dima Hasao ( which they still called N C Hills )
